In order to conserve the natural resources within the City of Davao, the City Environment & Natural Resources Office is focused on restoring habitats, enhancing ecosystem services, protecting biological diversity and mitigating climate change. To achieve such goals, CENRO conducts undertakings such as;
Nursery of Forest Trees and Mangroves Management
The Natural Resources Operation Division (NROD) under the command of the City Environment & Natural Resources Office (CENRO) have developed and managed fifteen (15) nurseries. Twelve (12) of these nurseries are for the propagation of forest tree seedlings and three (3) of the nurseries are for mangrove propagules where all of the plants produced will be for the purpose of the rehabilitation of watershed, riverbanks and coastal areas of Davao City. By 2020, a total of approximately 280,781 seedlings was produced and about 138,535 was distrusted and planted.
Rehabilitation Program
To achieve the protection, conservation, and restoration of the environment within the city, the Natural Resources Operation Division under CENRO have conducted continuous rehabilitation activities that cover watershed, riverbanks, upland and coastal areas of the city. During the year 2020, a total of 32,060 mangrove propagules were planted within 3.171 hectares of the coastal area; 40,820seedlings of forest trees were planted on a total of 36.65 hectares of watershed areas; a total of 18,905 seedlings were planted in a total of 5,076linear meters of the riverbank; and 59,182 seedlings were planted in a total of50.11 hectares of the upland area within the city.
Quarry Monitoring Operations
For the year 2020, they have monitored and assessed 296 approved concessionaires(new and renewed) with an excavated volume of 440,024 metric tons of sand and gravel (SAG) and 431,561 metric tons of earthfill materials relatively located within the outlying districts of the city with approved quarry areas.

Coastal Clean-Up (Davao Gulf Bantay Dagat Volunteers, Inc.)
Volunteers conducted Coastal CleanUp at Barangay Matina Aplaya on March 20, 2021 Davao Gulf A Simultaneous Clean-Up Drive was conducted on March 20, 2021 at Barangay Talomo, particularly at Purok 9, 10, and 11 and it participated by different agencies such as the Department of Public Works and Highways, 5th CRG, Philippines National Police of Talomo and Baliok, Ecoland Police Station, PAFTOG-XI TOWFM, HOPE Kababaihan (Facilitator), Task Force Davao, CHED, DSRDPI, Bantay Dagat, Barangay Tanod of Barangay Talomo, Cross Roads City Assembly of God Youth, Tactical Operations Wing Eastern, and City.
