The City Environment and Natural Resources Office organized a coastal clean-up event last September 17, 2022, to commemorate International Coastal Clean-up Day in collaboration with the different departments of the City Government of Davao, representatives from different barangay councils of the city, teachers, staff, and administrators of DepEd schools, volunteers of the Department of Natural Resources – Environment Management Bureau (DENR-EMB), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) team, B-Farm C team, Lasang Women’s Volunteer, Pepsi Cola, Philippine Navy Marines Reservist, Bantay Dagat team, Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International School, Punongbayan and Araullo Law Firm, Ridge to Reef employees, Pro Food International Corporation, LGBT Community, fisherfolks of Davao City, Holy Cross of Davao College, Agdao Multipurpose Cooperative, Vanguard, Davao Merchant Marine Academy College of Southern Philippines, Task Force Davao, DAVENCOR, Samalga Association, BEAST, Fast Logistic Services, FLET, Lamdag, Team Mahipus, 2Go team, Philippine Coast Guard Auxillary, and the Badjao Community. An estimate of four thousand and eight hundred sixty-three (4,863) participants joined the activity and around one thousand and nine hundred forty-six (1,946) trash bags were filled. The event took place primarily in the Barangays of Bago Aplaya, Binugao, Bunawan, Bucana, Centro, Daliao, Duterte, Hizon, Ilang, Lasang, Lapu-Lapu, Leon Garcia, Matina Aplaya, Pampanga, Panacan, Sasa, Sirawan, Talomo, Tibungco, Waterfront along the coastal areas of Davao City.
